Pan Harmonia, Asheville’s award-winning chamber music company, presents Dances in Nature with Kate Steinbeck, flute and Jessica Schaeffer, harp. Enjoy mystical dances and haunting melodies by well-known 20th century and contemporary composers, celebrating the play and power of the natural world through classical, folk, and jazz styles.
The flute and harp duo has a long history, with many composers writing for this combination over the last 250 years. Both instruments have ancient roots, with the flute being probably the first musical instrument ever made by humans. Together, they create an unforgettable, otherworldly sound.
